1ST CLOUGH BOYS’ BRIGADE
Our Motto:
The motto of the Boys' Brigade takes the organisation back to its roots and the reason for its work, the Bible and teaching God’s word to boys.
The moto ‘Sure and Stedfast’ is taken from Hebrews chapter 6 verse 19 ‘'Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast'
Our object:
The object of the Boys’ Brigade is "the advancement of Christ's kingdom among Boys and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self-respect and all that tends towards a true Christian manliness".
1st Clough Boys Brigade has been running since 1943 and currently has an attendance of 70 boys. Our three sections meet each Monday night in Clough Presbyterian Church halls as follows:
Anchor Boys (Boys aged 5-8) 7pm-8pm
Junior Section (Boys aged 8-11) 7pm-8pm
Company Section / Seniors (Boys aged 11+) 7pm-9pm
We run a varied and exciting range of activities for the boys including sport, craft, badge work and Bible study. The company has been successful in recent sports competitions with the company section boys winning the Down Battalion volley ball and table tennis competitions.
The company section boys take part in the BB Presidents and Queens Badge programmes and this year we have 6 boys completing their Queens Badges.
Our new session commences with our registration night on Monday 14 September at 7pm and we welcome new recruits from age 5 upwards.
